Syncing data to Qomon
Learn how to set up an integration with Qomon to sync your supporter and campaign data from New/Mode v2 to your Qomon account.
Qomon is a supporter activation platform with a unified CRM for sign-ups, supporters, volunteers, donors and members. Once connected, New/Mode automatically syncs your supporters' data (first name, last name, email, address, phone number and opt-in status) to Qomon.
Multiple CRMs connected to one account are available on the Movement Builder and above subscription tier. Contact us for more information at support@newmode.net.
Before you begin: get your Qomon API key
Qomon connects with an API key rather than a Qomon login. You'll need to copy the key from your Qomon account first.
- Log into Qomon and open Settings (under your name at the bottom of the left-hand menu).
- Go to the Integrations & API tab.
- Under Generate API keys, click + Add to create a key if you don't already have one. Choose Full Access.
- Copy the key.
Connecting to Qomon
- In New/Mode, open the Integrations page on the side menu.
- Click the Connect button for Qomon.
- In the window that appears, enter:
- API Key: paste the Qomon API key you copied.
- API Subdomain: choose incoming (default) or incoming-us. Most accounts use the default. If you're not sure which one applies to your Qomon account, contact us at support@newmode.net.
- Click Link my account now. This can take a minute or two.
When the connection succeeds, New/Mode fetches the fields available in your Qomon account so you can map your data. You only need to connect once.
Syncing is paused by default. Set up your data mapping first, then click Resume Syncing at the top of the page to start syncing your contact data.
Now that the integration is in place, it will be automatically connected to any new campaigns that you create.
Customizing your Qomon integration
Global settings
On the Qomon integration page you have a few global options:
- Pause or resume syncing: pausing syncing is useful when making changes. Just remember to resume syncing once you're done!
- Update Properties to pull in any new fields (including custom fields) you've created on the Qomon side so they're available to map to.
- Disconnect your integration to fully remove it and allow you to set up a new one.
- View the Sync status to see how it's been working and whether any contacts are in progress, waiting to be synced, or have errors.
- Customize the Data Mapping table to control which New/Mode data is sent to which Qomon field.
Data mapping
When you first connect, New/Mode sets up a default mapping for the standard fields that exist in Qomon:

A few things to know:
- Email is used for matching. If a supporter's email matches an existing Qomon contact, that contact is updated. If not, a new contact is created. The email mapping can't be edited.
- "(standard)" properties are standard integration values that are translated to the matching field in Qomon. The name shown in the table isn't always exactly what the field is called in Qomon.
- Opt-in status: the opt-in value is sent to Qomon as a true/false value on the contact's blacklist setting. In Qomon, a supporter who has not consented appears as Do not contact on their record.
- The mappings on this page are global, meaning they apply to data from all of your campaign.
To change or add a mapping:
- Select a cell in the table to change which field it maps to. The Qomon field list shows each field's data type (for example string or boolean) to help you match similar types of data.
- Click + Add row to map additional New/Mode data, such as campaign submission data, Key Value Pairings (constant values), or custom fields from your campaign forms. Custom fields you add to a New/Mode form will appear as options in this list.
- To send data to a field that doesn't exist yet in Qomon, first create a custom field in Qomon (Settings > Contacts / CRM), then click Update Properties on the New/Mode integration page to bring it in. New fields can take a few minutes to appear.
Make sure to click Resume Syncing at the top of the page once you're done making changes to the mapping!
Turning syncing on or off for a campaign
On your campaign's Review & Launch page, the Integrations block has a switch to turn syncing to Qomon on or off for that campaign, next to your Key Value Pairings. If you have more than one CRM connected, each integration appears here, so you can choose which CRM each campaign syncs to.
Tags
You can add Tags on your campaign's Edit page. (This is the page that you see when you first create your campaign, and you can also return there from your campaign Overview page by clicking on the pencil that appears beside your campaign's title.)
When New/Mode tags are mapped to tags in Qomon:
- Tags appear in the Tags section on the left-hand side of the Qomon contact record. A supporter who has taken part in several tagged campaigns will have a tag for each one.
- In Qomon, Settings > Contacts / CRM > Tags lists each tag with the number of contacts associated with it, which you can click through to.
If you use tags for other purposes (like administrative labels), you can instead identify campaigns by mapping the Campaign ID or a Key Value Pairing to a Qomon field.
Key Value Pairings
To send a constant value with every submission from a campaign (for example, a campaign or program identifier), open your campaign's Review page and click on Manage settings on the Integrations block to create a Key Value Pairing. Then go back to the Data Mapping table on the Integrations page and map that pairing to the Qomon field you want to use.
Tracking the source of a submission
New/Mode records a source value when a supporter arrives on your campaign page or embedded campaign with a source parameter in the URL (for example, ?source=newsletter). You can map this source value to a suitable field in Qomon. Note that each new submission writes its source to the contact field and may overwrite the previous value, so a history of past sources isn't kept on the contact.
Viewing sync status and errors
Return to the Qomon integration page at any time to see the Sync status of your supporter data. If an error occurs, an error message will appear so you can troubleshoot further.
You can also head to the Contacts tab from the left-hand menu of your New/Mode account to see each contact's latest CRM sync status, including any errors for a specific contact.
Data does not appear in Qomon instantly. Allow around 15–20 minutes for a new submission to show up in Qomon.
Manually syncing data
From the Contacts menu, select the contact(s) you wish to update, and then click on Sync contacts to CRM. Click the Sync all campaign submissions checkbox to include campaign submission data. Submission data will then be synced in chronological order according to when supporter data was received.
