Syncing New/Mode data to CallHub
CallHub is an outreach platform for calls, texts and email, with dialers for volunteer phone banks, peer-to-peer texting, text broadcasts and voice broadcasts. Once connected, New/Mode automatically syncs your supporters' data to CallHub, ready for follow-up calls and texts.
Phone numbers are required. Add a phone field and SMS consent language (or an opt-in checkbox) to the campaign forms you want to sync.
Connecting to CallHub
- Find your CallHub API Key
- In New/Mode, open the Integrations page on the side menu.
- Click the + Connect button for CallHub.
- Enter the API Key in the window that appears
When the connection succeeds, New/Mode fetches the fields available in your CallHub account so you can map your data. You only need to connect once.
Syncing is paused by default. Set up your data mapping first, then click Resume Syncing at the top of the page to start syncing.
The integration will be automatically connected to any new campaigns that you create.
Customizing your CallHub integration
Global settings
On the CallHub integration page you can:
- Pause or resume syncing. Pausing is useful when making changes. Just remember to resume once you're done!
- Update Properties to pull in new fields you've created in CallHub so they're available to map to.
- Disconnect to fully remove the integration and set up a new one.
- View the Sync status to see how syncing is working and whether any contacts are in progress, waiting or have errors.
- Customize the Data Mapping table to control which New/Mode data is sent to which CallHub field.
Data mapping
When you first connect, New/Mode sets up a default mapping for the standard fields in CallHub.
A few things to know:
- Phone number must be mapped, since CallHub requires it on every record.
- Mappings are global, meaning they apply to data from all of your campaigns.
To change or add a mapping:
- Select a cell in the table to change which field it maps to.
- Click + Add row to map additional New/Mode data, such as campaign submission data, Key Value Pairings or custom fields from your campaign forms.
- To send data to a field that doesn't exist yet in CallHub, create it in CallHub first, then click Update Properties.
Click Resume Syncing at the top of the page once you're done!
Campaign settings
Turning syncing on or off for a campaign
On your campaign's Review & Launch page, the Integrations block has a switch to turn syncing to CallHub on or off for that campaign. If you have more than one CRM connected, each integration appears here, so you can choose which CRM each campaign syncs to. At least one CRM will need to be enabled here in order for mapped contact and submission data to flow into a CRM.
Tags
You can add Tags on your campaign's Edit page. (This is the page you see when you first create your campaign. You can return to it from your campaign Overview page by clicking the pencil beside your campaign's title.) New/Mode tags mapped to Callhub tags will appear as tags in CallHub.
Key Value Pairings
To send a constant value with every submission from a campaign (for example, a campaign or program identifier), open your campaign's Review page and click Manage settings on the Integrations block to create a Key Value Pairing. Then map that pairing to a CallHub field in the Data Mapping table.
Tracking the source of a submission
New/Mode records a source value when a supporter arrives on your campaign with a source parameter in the URL (for example, ?source=newsletter). You can map this value to a CallHub field. Each new submission may overwrite the previous value, so past sources aren't kept.
Viewing sync status and errors
Return to the CallHub integration page at any time to see the Sync status of your supporter data. If an error occurs, an error message will appear so you can troubleshoot.
You can also open the Contacts tab from the left-hand menu of your New/Mode account to see each contact's latest CRM sync status, including any errors.
If a contact isn't appearing in CallHub, check that their submission included a phone number.
Manually syncing data
From the Contacts menu, select the contact(s) you wish to update, then click Sync contacts to CRM. Check the Sync all campaign submissions box to include campaign submission data. Submission data will then be synced in chronological order according to when supporter data was received.
