Manage CRM syncing in v2

On New/Mode v2 (impact.newmode.net) we now support syncing all of your campaign contacts to several CRMS shown below.

Additional CRMs as well as additional configuration options will be made available in the future. Sign up to our newsletter for updates!

Connecting your CRM

Start by heading over to Integrations from the left-hand menu. The steps below focus on MailChimp but the process for the other integrations is very similar.

1. If you've selected MailChimp, you'll see an 'enter audience name' popup appear. Please enter an existing audience name.

If you leave the field blank, MailChimp will pick the first audience available from your account. If you enter a non-existing audience name the sync will likely fail as it won't be associated with any audience.

2. Once you click on 'Link my account now' you'll then need to log into your CRM account to allow New/Mode to access it and authorize the connection.

This will allow you to automatically sync your supporters first & last name, email address, phone number and opt-in status.

Once you have completed your integration setup your CRM will now be automatically connected to any new campaigns you create. You can turn off your integration or map it further to custom segments by clicking on Manage Settings on the Review tab.

By default the following fields will be synced:

  1.  First name
  2. Last name
  3. Email
  4. Address
  5. Opt-in
  6. Phone number
  7. Created at
  8. Updated at
Contact segmentation based on Tags

Tags can be added to each campaign during the initial setup stages or by returning to your campaign overview tab and clicking on the pencil that appears beside your campaign's title.

On the integration management page you can edit your tags by clicking on the  data mapping table and then mapping your New/Mode tags to your CRMs property tags.
  1. For MailChimp: campaign tags can be associated with the contact synced to MC
  2. For Salesforce: 'topics' need to be configured on SF and campaign tags can be associated with the contact synced to SF
  3. For NationBuilder: campaign tags can be associated with the contact synced to NB

Viewing an Integration

Once done with the connection steps, you'll be able to return to the Integrations tab to see the Sync status of your supporters data. All your existing supporter data will be synced. New submissions will then be synced as they are collected.

If an error occurs during the syncing process, an error message will appear so that you can troubleshoot further in your MailChimp account. You can also head to the Contacts tab from the left-hand menu of your New/Mode account to find the specific contact(s) that did not sync to your CRM.

If you're not familiar with your CRMs messages we invite you to have a look at their errors glossary

Troubleshooting or Replacing an Integration

Should you be required to for troubleshooting purposes or to if you wish to add another account of the same integration type, click on 'Reconnect' or 'Disconnect'.  Reconnect will allow you to troubleshoot your authentication whereas Disconnect will remove your CRM.  After you confirm that you wish to disconnect, you'll be able to restart the integration connection process.

From the Integration menu you'll also be able to update your data mapping to reflect your integration's properties/naming conventions, and whether or not you would like an existing value to be overwritten.

If you are using Hubspot, you will need to be a superadmin in order to connect your integration.  Lastly, see our article on Key Value Pairing for additional configuration options
